All Equipment Provided
Every child who walks through our doors gets what they need to play. We provide all equipment — no family should ever have to choose between their child’s participation and their budget. Showing up is enough. We handle the rest.
This is not a small thing. It is the foundation of everything. Because when every kid has what they need, every kid belongs.
Custom Jersey — Yours to Keep
Every Team Play player receives a custom Hasek’s Heroes jersey with their name on the back.
Not a loaner. Not a rental. Theirs. Forever.
That jersey means something. It is the moment a child looks down and sees their name on the back of a team jersey — and knows they are part of something real. We want every player to carry that feeling home and hang it on their wall.
Cape Day Celebrations
On Cape Day, players come to the rink as the heroes they already are.
The whole program celebrates together — the effort, the growth, the character our players have shown. Cape Day is one of our most beloved traditions because it really marks the beginning of their Hockey careers! When they graduate Learn to Skate/Learn to Play

Hero Bucks & The Team Store
Team Players earn Hero Bucks throughout the month for effort, sportsmanship, academic focus during Study Hours, showing up on time, and living out our core values. Every positive moment is a moment worth recognizing.
Learn To Skate/Learn To Play kids get to cash in on cape day with their Hero Bucks. They earn them by checking every box off their stamp card!
The Gold Room becomes the Team Store. Players can spend their Hero Bucks on gear, snacks, hockey cards, collectibles, and more — or save them and stack up for something bigger next month. The choice is theirs.
Hero Bucks teach kids that doing the right thing pays off. The Team Store makes it real.
The Gold Room — Study Hours
Before and after practice, the Gold Room is open. Players have a dedicated, supervised space to complete homework, work on school projects, read, color
Coaches and staff are present. And when the homework is done. Coaches can do — video review, chalkboard sessions, and real conversations about the game.
HEROES Lessons
Our HEROES Lessons are structured skill-development sessions designed to meet each player exactly where they are and move them forward. These are intentional, focused, and built around the individual — not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Every player in the program has a development path. HEROES Lessons are how we walk it with them.
Skills Camps
Throughout the year we run dedicated Skills Camps — intensive sessions focused on skating, puck handling, shooting, positioning, and game awareness. These camps give players an accelerated opportunity to level up outside of regular practice.
Open to players across multiple levels. Details, dates, and registration are announced through TeamReach and the website.
Tournaments
Team Play players compete in tournaments against programs from across the region. These are some of the most memorable experiences in the program — full days of hockey, competition, team bonding, and growth under pressure.
Award ceremony KEVIN DURAWA MEMORIAL AWARD
This award honors the player who best demonstrates leadership and sportsmanship on the ice, while also excelling in academics and community involvement off the ice. These qualities reflect the character and values Kevin embodied and the example we strive to set for our players every day.
Street Hockey ( NEW NEXT SPRING )
Hockey does not stop when you leave the ice. Our new Street Hockey program brings the game outside — no skates required, all welcome, pure fun.
Street Hockey is one of the most inclusive things we do. It lowers the barrier, brings in new kids, and reminds everyone why we fell in love with this game in the first place. Sticks up, game on.
Fundraisers & Raffles
Our fundraising events are community events first. They bring players, families, coaches, and supporters together — and everything raised goes directly back into the program.
From on-ice showcase events and skills competitions to community dinners, silent auctions, and raffles, there is always something coming up. Every ticket purchased, every item won, every dollar raised keeps Hasek’s Heroes accessible and growing.

Junior Coaches — When Players Come Back
One of the things we are most proud of at Hasek’s Heroes is what happens after players age out of the program.
They come back.
Several of our former players now return as Junior Coaches — volunteering their time to work with younger kids, run drills, model the values, and give back to the community that gave to them. These young men and women are living proof that what we build here lasts.
Being a Junior Coach is a rite of passage in this program. It is also a leadership opportunity, a resume builder, and a way for young people to stay connected to the sport and the community they love.
If your child has aged out of the program and wants to give back, reach out. The door is always open.
The Full Development Path
Everything above is not a collection of random offerings. It is a system — built intentionally to develop the whole child from the first time they lace up skates to the day they come back as a Junior Coach.
