On June 26th, the same day the first round of the NHL Draft got underway at KeyBank Center, a handful of Hasek's Heroes kids laced up their skates for the experience of a lifetime: sharing the ice with the top prospects in this year's draft class. Projected first overall pick Gavin McKenna was on the ice alongside fellow top prospects Chase Reid, Keaton Verhoeff, Caleb Malhotra, and several others all just hours away from hearing their names called.

Buffalo native Lawton Zacher finished 2025-2026 tied 2nd in the NCAA with a .929 save % and 1st with 5 shutouts. He’s coming home to partner with Hasek’s Heroes and give back to the next generation of Buffalo Hockey kids.

Maddie didn't just complete the Cleveland Marathon — she crushed it. Setting a goal of 4:30:00, she crossed the finish line in an incredible 4:08:38, besting her target by more than 20 minutes.

But her impact didn't stop there. Through her fundraising efforts, Maddie raised $1,000 for Hasek's Heroes
