Sportsmanship & Behavior at Games and Practices

Hasek’s Heroes is known for the way we compete and the way we carry ourselves. That reputation is built every single day — in practice, in games, and in how we treat people whether we are winning or losing.

Expected behavior from players:

• Respect officials even when you disagree with a call — raise concerns through the right people, never through attitude on the ice

• Support teammates when they make mistakes — no eye rolls, no blame

• Play hard, play clean, play within the rules

• Win with humility and lose with dignity

Expected behavior from coaches:

• Never argue with officials in a disrespectful way

• Never make negative comments about opposing players or coaches, especially within earshot of players

• Address behavioral issues in private, not publicly

• Be the calmest person in the building when things get tense

Expected behavior from parents:

• Cheer for your team — positive, supportive cheering only

• Never boo, taunt, or direct negative comments at officials, opposing players, or coaches

• Do not interfere with the coaching process during a game

• If another parent is behaving poorly, you are empowered to quietly and calmly ask them to stop — or notify a program staff member

Unsportsmanlike behavior from any member of the Hasek’s Heroes community — player, coach, or parent — reflects on the entire program. We hold the standard collectively.
